Abstract

Suitability Test of MSCT Scan at a Hospital in Denpasar Multi-Slice Computed Tomography   (MSCT) is a diagnostic imaging modality that utilizes X-rays and computer technology to produce high-resolution cross-sectional images, providing detailed anatomical information. The quality of CT images is highly dependent on the performance of the CT scanner. Therefore, conformity testing is conducted as part of a quality control program to ensure that the CT scanner operates according to established standards. Conformity testing is performed periodically to evaluate image quality parameters, including CT number accuracy, CT number uniformity, and image artifacts, thereby maintaining the quality of radiological services in accordance with applicable standards. At the Radiology Unit of General Hospital Denpasar, the MSCT scanner had previously experienced persistent image artifacts that could not be resolved through routine calibration and maintenance, requiring replacement of the X-ray tube as a corrective measure Between January to March 2022. This condition highlighted the need for conformity testing to verify that the scanner's performance after the replacement of the major component complied with the required standards and was capable of producing optimal diagnostic image quality.
