Hubungan Implementasi Program Pengelolaan Sampah Berbasis 3R Dengan Partisipasi Masyarakat Binaan Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Di Kabupaten Aceh Barat

The success of the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R)-Based Waste Management Program is determined not only by its implementation but also by the active participation of the community as the primary target group. Although the 3R-Based Waste Management Program has been implemented through community empowerment initiatives by the Environmental Agency of West Aceh Regency, empirical evidence regarding the relationship between program implementation and community participation remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the implementation of the 3R-Based Waste Management Program and community participation among communities assisted by the Environmental Agency of West Aceh Regency. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 35 community members selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-square test at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that 22 respondents (62.9%) perceived the implementation of the 3R-Based Waste Management Program as effective, while 20 respondents (57.1%) demonstrated positive community participation. Among respondents who perceived the program implementation as effective, 72.7% showed positive participation, whereas only 30.8% of those who perceived the implementation as less effective demonstrated positive participation. The Chi-square analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship between the implementation of the 3R-Based Waste Management Program and community participation (p = 0.015). Effective implementation of the 3R-Based Waste Management Program was associated with higher levels of community participation in waste management activities. These findings suggest that strengthening program implementation through enhanced socialization, continuous community assistance, and adequate supporting facilities is essential to promote sustainable community participation in 3R-based waste management.References
