Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the implementation of physical ergonomics, determine the level of employee work comfort, and examine the effect of physical ergonomics on employee work comfort at PT Matahari Putra Makmur. This research employed a quantitative method using a survey approach. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation involving 10 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, partial t-test, and the coefficient of determination with Microsoft Excel. The results showed that the average score of physical ergonomics was 21.30, while the average work comfort score was 20.10. The simple linear regression analysis indicated a positive relationship between physical ergonomics and work comfort, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.849, indicating a very strong relationship. The partial t-test revealed that the calculated t-value (4.546) was greater than the t-table value (2.306), indicating that physical ergonomics had a positive and significant effect on employee work comfort. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 72.1%, meaning that physical ergonomics explained 72.1% of the variation in employee work comfort, while the remaining 27.9% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. Therefore, improving the implementation of physical ergonomics is expected to create a safer, more comfortable, and more productive work environment.
