Hubungan Usia, Jenis Kelamin, dan Pekerjaan dengan Kejadian Jenis Hemoroid di RSUD Meuraxa Banda Aceh

Hemorrhoids are a common anorectal disorder characterized by changes in the hemorrhoidal vascular cushions. Several individual characteristics, including age, gender, and occupation, have been proposed to be associated with hemorrhoids. However, previous studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the relationship between these characteristics and hemorrhoid types. This study aimed to determine the association between age, gender, and occupation and the types of internal and external hemorrhoids among patients at RSUD Meuraxa Banda Aceh in 2024. An analytical quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted using secondary data obtained from patients’ medical records. All eligible patients were included using total sampling, resulting in 33 respondents. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with Fisher’s exact test. The results showed that most respondents were aged ≥45 years (54.5%), male (78.8%), and classified as non-civil servants (non-PNS) (97.0%). Fisher’s exact test showed no statistically significant association between age (p = 0,579), gender (p = 0,106), or occupation (p = 1,000) and hemorrhoid type. These findings indicate that age, gender, and occupation were not significantly associated with internal or external hemorrhoid types among patients at RSUD Meuraxa Banda Aceh.References
