Fever is a common health problem in children and requires appropriate management to prevent complications. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that can be used is the application of warm compresses to the axillary and temporal areas, although the effectiveness of these two sites still requires further investigation. Objective: To determine the difference in the effectiveness of warm compresses applied to the axillary and temporal areas in reducing body temperature among children at Tangerang Regency General Hospital. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental two-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 40 respondents, who were divided into two groups: 20 respondents in the axillary group and 20 respondents in the temporal group, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test. Results: The mean body temperature in the axillary group decreased from 38.38°C to 36.99°C, while the mean body temperature in the temporal group decreased from 38.13°C to 37.53°C. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a statistically significant reduction in body temperature in both groups (p < 0.001). The Mann-Whitney U Test demonstrated a statistically significant difference in effectiveness between the two groups (p < 0.001), indicating that warm compresses applied to the axillary area were more effective than those applied to the temporal area. Conclusion: Warm compresses applied to both the axillary and temporal areas were effective in reducing body temperature in children. However, warm compresses applied to the axillary area were more effective than those applied to the temporal area.
