Quality control testing of X-ray equipment is necessary to ensure proper equipment performance and optimal diagnostic image quality. The collimator is an important component that limits the radiation field; therefore, the congruence between the light field and X-ray radiation field must be regularly evaluated. This study aimed to determine the results of collimator congruence testing on a stationary radiographic X-ray unit at the Radiology Installation of RSUP Prof. dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah. This quantitative study employed an observational approach, in which data were obtained through direct observation of collimator testing using a Collimator Test Tool and a Beam Alignment Test Tool. The tests evaluated the congruence between the light field and X-ray radiation field and the perpendicularity of the X-ray beam to the light field center at an FFD of 100 cm. The results showed deviations of 1.0% FFD on the X-axis and 0.6% FFD on the Y-axis, with a total deviation of 1.6% FFD. These results were within the tolerance limits of ΔX ≤ 2% FFD, ΔY ≤ 2% FFD, and ΔX + ΔY ≤ 3% FFD. The perpendicularity test showed a deviation of 1.5°, which was within the tolerance limit of ≤ 3°. Therefore, the light field and X-ray radiation field congruence and X-ray beam perpendicularity met the applicable quality control standards. The collimation system was functioning properly and supported image quality and patient radiation safety.References
