Peranan Body Marker Kapsul Gel Pada Pemeriksaan MRI Fistula Perianal Di Instalasi Radiologi RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar

Abstract

Perianal fistulas is a chronic anorectal disease characterized by the formation of an abnormal channel between the anal canal and the perianal skin. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is the gold standard imaging modality in the evaluation of perianal fistula because it is able to performed the anatomy of the fistula, the primary and secondary pathways, and the relationship of the fistula to the sphincter complex in detail. However, in clinical practice, difficulties are still found in correlating the location of the eksternal lesions found during clinical examination with the anatomical features on MRI images. One effort that can be done to assist clinical and radiological correlation is the use body marker gel capsules as eksternal markers. This study aims to determine the role of body marker gel capsules in MRI examinations of perianal fistula in the Radiology Department of RSUD Sanjiwani Gianyar. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through observation of MRI examination procedures for perianal fistula using a 1,5 Tesla Philips MRI, interviews with two radiographers MRI and two radiologists, and documentation of MRI image results of perianal fistula pariens who used body marker gel capsules. Data were analysed descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the gel capsule body marker acts as an eksternal anatomical marker that helps identify the location of the eksternal fistula lesions, improves the correlation between clinical findings and radiological images, and supports the interpretation of the fistula path on MRI images. The use of the gel capsule body marker also provides additional anatomical references that assist radiographers and radiologists in a more comprehensive evaluation of perianal fistulas.
