Abstract

Tuberculosis is a public health problem in the working area of Kresek Community Health Center. Pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary TB)is among the 11 leading diseases, with an increasing number of cases during the period from May to July 2026. Data from the TB Clinicshowed an increase in visits from 65 during January–April 2026 to 113 during May–July 2026. Pasir Ampo Village had the highest number of tuberculosis cases among the areas served by Kresek Community Health Center. Community diagnosis was initially conducted throughsituation analysis based on the BLUM paradigm, encompassing genetic, environmental, behavioral, and healthcare service factors. Problem prioritization was determined using the USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) scoring technique and the Delphi method. Root causes were analyzed using a fishbone diagram and the 5 Why method, focusing on community knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to TB. Subsequently, the intervention was planned, implemented, monitored, and evaluated using the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) cycle with a systems approach to assess implementation and identify barriers. The community diagnosis was followed by TB education and TB screening among participants. The intervention improved community knowledge, with 47 participants (95.9%) achieving a post-test score ≥70 and 40 participants (81.63%) achieving an increase of ≥10 points with a post-test score ≥70. Furthermore, TB screening involving 49 participants identified 10 participants (20.4%) as suspected TB cases. These findings indicatethat the intervention was effective in improving community knowledge about TB and identifying symptomatic individuals through TB screening.
