Abstract

This study examines the role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) in shaping a growth mindset among young people in the context of modern challenges, which are marked by academic pressure, technological development, and increasing mental health problems. Many young people experience stress, anxiety, and declining character, so a mindset is needed that can help them survive and grow. A growth mindset is understood as the belief that abilities can be developed through effort, learning, and persistence. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature review design. Data were collected from journals, books, and scientific articles published within the last ten years and analysed descriptively to understand the relationship between CRE and growth mindset. The results show that a growth mindset helps young people become more resilient, confident, and able to see failure as part of the learning process. CRE plays an important role in shaping this mindset through the development of faith values, perseverance, self-reflection, and learning based on God’s Word. Teachers also have an important role in creating a learning environment that supports students’ mental and spiritual growth. In conclusion, CRE has a significant role in forming a growth mindset in young people. With the right teaching approach, CRE not only builds faith but also shapes character, mental resilience, and a growth-oriented way of thinking. Therefore, integrating a growth mindset into CRE is essential to respond to the challenges faced by today’s younger generation.
