This study aims to comprehensively analyze global trends, academic collaborations, and the research trajectory regarding data privacy and ethics in digital communication during the 2021–2025 period. Employing a bibliometric approach to Scopus publication data, the study reveals that issues of digital ethics and privacy have evolved from purely technical studies into a multidisciplinary discourse integrating technological, social, and moral dimensions. The analysis shows a significant increase in the number of publications rising from 14 articles in 2021 to over 30 in 2025 reflecting the global urgency surrounding data governance and ethical responsibility in digital communication. VOSViewer visualizations of co-authorship networks demonstrate cross-disciplinary and cross-national connections, highlighting key figures such as J. Hagelstein, I. Amerini, and S. Aldecoa-Landesa as primary links between the technological and ethical realms. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identifies three main research foci: data security and encryption, artificial intelligence ethics, and digital social responsibility. The study highlights the demand for balancing technological advancement with human values in the evolution of digital communication, thereby driving the push for digital ethics policies that uphold human values on the global stage.References
