Timely completion of a construction project is one indicator of project success, whereas delays tend to increase execution costs and postpone the utilization of the building. This study aims to analyze the execution duration and critical path of the existing condition of the construction project of the North Sulawesi Regional Police building, and to calculate the magnitude of time acceleration and the percentage of duration efficiency achievable through the application of the fast track method. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data consisting of the master schedule/S-curve, weekly and monthly reports, network diagram/precedence diagram method (PDM), and the project budget plan. The analysis was carried out in stages, including identification of activities and durations, preparation of the network diagram and determination of the critical path using Microsoft Project software, analysis of the potential for activity overlapping on the critical path, and rescheduling of the project. The results show that the project execution duration under field conditions was 160 working days. After the fast track method was applied to several critical path activities by changing the predecessor relationship from finish-to-start to start-to-start, the project duration could be shortened to 137 working days, an acceleration of 23 working days (14.4%). This study concludes that the fast track method is effective as a strategy for accelerating the execution time of multi-story building construction projects without a significant increase in resources, provided it is accompanied by adequate coordination and quality control.Downloads
