Abstract

Construction activities significantly contribute to natural resource consumption and waste generation, making the implementation of green construction principles increasingly important, particularly in continued projects that were previously halted. This study aims to identify the aspects of construction implementation that have and have not met green construction indicators, and to analyze the level of implementation in the aspects of structure, material, and construction waste management at the Metland Marron Hotel Construction Project in Tomohon, which was halted in 2020 and resumed in 2025. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with an evaluative approach based on an assessment model consisting of 15 indicators on a 0–2 scoring scale, with data collected through field observation, project documentation, and questionnaires administered to five respondents in managerial and supervisory positions. The results show that the overall level of green construction implementation reached 79.3 percent, categorized as good. The structural aspect achieved the highest score (90.0%) through the reuse of existing structures without demolition, followed by construction waste management (82.0%), while the material aspect obtained the lowest score (66.0%) due to limited use of environmentally friendly fabricated materials and local suppliers. This study concludes that continued construction projects have greater opportunities to implement green construction principles compared to new projects because they can utilize existing structures, although sustainable material management still requires further attention from project implementers.
