Quantity takeoff (QTO) for industrial buildings is frequently performed using two-dimensional drawings, often amidst frequent design revisions. This study aims to establish an integration workflow from Autodesk Revit models to Glodon Cubicost TAS and TRB via the IFC format, calculate concrete volumes and reinforcement weights for structural works, measure the variance against the project's Bill of Quantities (BoQ), and identify the causes of these discrepancies. The research utilizes a case study of a 9,180 m² industrial building. Structural elements—including pile caps, tie beams, columns, beams, and corbels—were modeled in Revit based on construction drawings, exported to the IFC 2x3 format, and subsequently analyzed using Cubicost TAS for concrete and Cubicost TRB for reinforcement. BIM-based calculations yielded a concrete volume of 1,238.470 m³ and a reinforcement weight of 273,203.9 kg. Both figures exceeded the BoQ values across all items, with total variances of 22.5% for concrete and 42.2% for reinforcement. Concrete variances ranged from 8.9% for beams to 51.4% for pile caps, while reinforcement variances ranged from 23.0% for pile caps to 53.7% for columns. A verification using the net length method on the lower K3 column revealed that TRB calculated a 32,7 % higher weight because it accounted for lap splices, starter bars, anchorage, and hooks. While the integration of Revit and Cubicost is viable for structural work, reinforcement data requires re-inputting in TRB, and non-standard elements—such as corbels—are not yet recognized as parametric elements.Downloads
