The presence of the e-cigarette (vape) trend has become a health issue not only among adults but also among teenagers, including students. WHO (2025) reported that approximately 15 million children aged 13–15 years, including junior high school students, use e-cigarettes. In Indonesia, the prevalence of e-cigarette users aged 10–14 years reaches 9.6%, exceeding the adult age group. Junior high school students are considered vulnerable because they are in the early adolescent phase, susceptible to social pressure, including the phenomenon of fear of missing out (FoMO), namely the anxiety of being left behind in the social experiences of others, which can encourage risky behaviors such as e-cigarettes. This study aims to determine the relationship between FoMO and e-cigarette smoking behavior among students at a public junior high school in Kawangkoan. The research design used an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach on 93 students in grades VII–IX selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a fear of missing out scale (FoMOs) questionnaire and an e-cigarette smoking behavior questionnaire, analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Spearman Rank correlation test. The results showed that 65.6% of respondents were in the moderate FoMO category, and 48.4% of respondents had (had stopped using) e-cigarettes. The Spearman correlation test showed p = 0.002 with a coefficient value of 0.313, indicating a significant relationship with low strength and a positive direction. This means that the higher the FoMO category, the greater the tendency to use e-cigarettes.
