Abstract

Public Street Lighting (PSL) plays a vital role in ensuring safety and supporting the continuity of nighttime transportation operations, particularly in port areas. This study aims to analyze the illuminance level of the public street lighting system on the KITB Batang Port Trestle by comparing the results of DIALux evo simulations with field measurements conducted using a digital lux meter. A descriptive quantitative method with a comparative approach was employed based on 44 observation points. The simulation results indicated an average illuminance (Eavg) of 35 lux, a minimum illuminance (Emin) of 17 lux, a maximum illuminance (Emax) of 69 lux, and a lighting uniformity (Uo) of 0.471. Meanwhile, field measurements showed an average illuminance of 44.07 lux, ranging from 30 to 100 lux. The comparison between the simulation and field measurement results demonstrated a satisfactory level of agreement, although differences were observed due to lamp lumen depreciation, installation conditions, road surface reflectance, and environmental factors. The findings indicate that integrating DIALux evo simulation with field measurements is an effective approach for evaluating the performance of public street lighting systems and can serve as a reliable basis for design optimization, maintenance planning, and improving operational safety in port infrastructure.
